Iran lets Tajikistan transit its freight through Persian Gulf

Dushanbe. April 10. Silkroadnews – Iran has let Tajikistan transit its freight through Persian Gulf and Iranian railway system, as Tajik Ministry of transport reports.
Tajik Transport Minister Hayrullo Asozod has met with Iranian Minister of Transportation Abbas Ahoundi in Tehran to discuss prospects for transport cooperation between 2 countries.
The parties have revisited the implementation of previously reached agreements on transportation and freight transit.
The central issue is the construction of the railway that would connect Iran to Tajikistan via Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. That would give Tajikistan a faster access to the sea.
