Iran not to allow foreigners access to its military facilities

Beijing. January 16. Silkroadnews - Iran will not allow foreigners access to its military facilities, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports with reference to Tasnim News Agency.
“Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi rejected recent comments made by US President Donald Trump about the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers and said the country would not allow foreigners to have access to its military sites,” the report said.
Kamalvandi said the issue of access to military facilities is not included in the IAEA safeguard agreement, the Additional Protocol and the JCPOA.
In the past, Iranian military facilities such as Parchin have already been inspected, he noted, adding that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspected the site and closed the case.
At present, the IAEA does not request inspection of other military facilities in the country, the official said.
Kamalvandi further stressed, the Islamic Republic will not allow access to its military facilities even to the IAEA.
The statement came after the U.S. President Donald Trump demanded extension of the JCPOA validity for the third time and also set conditions to remove sanctions against Iran.
Trump demanded changes to the JCPOA (the nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1: Russia, China, the U.S., Britain, France and Germany).
In response, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reminded, the JCPOA is a working international document, which would not be renegotiated at all.
The historic deal was signed in Vienna in July 2015, the IAEA has repeatedly affirmed the Islamic Republic’s compliance with its obligations under the JCPOA, while some other parties, especially the United States, have not fulfilled their obligations.
