Iran offered SCO countries to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism
Almaty. April 16. Silkroadnews - Offer of Iran in countering terrorism have received positive feedback from the security council secretaries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), transfers IrTAG, with reference to the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamhani.
According to him, the security forces of the Islamic Republic have extensive experience in dealing with various terrorist and extremist groups that will undoubtedly contribute to the further strengthening of cooperation between Iran and the countries parties of SCO in effectively countering contemporary challenges and threats to security and stability of regional countries .
In addition, the head of Iran's National Security Council gave a positive assessment of Moscow's recent decision to lift the ban on the supply of air defense systems S-300 to Iran.
He also expressed hope that the results of the agreements reached during his visit to Moscow, will turn around for the sake of security and stability in the region and will help to address the root that causes that lead to an increase of terrorist activity.
As recalled by the agency, currently Iran has an observer status of SCO, but Tehran has repeatedly stated desire to become a full member of the regional association.
