Iran plans oil and gas exploration tenders
Almaty. July 11. Silkroadnews – Iran plans oil and gas exploration tenders, Pakistani newspaper “The News” reported.
Iran is readying its first round of oil and gas exploration tenders since the easing of economic sanctions, hoping to attract the likes of BP and Gazprom. Being reach in the energy reserves, Iran has already been working on deals to develop existing fields such as South Pars, South Azadegan, Yadavaran, West Karoon, Mansuri and Abe-Timur, the publication reads.
Russian Lukoil and Danish Maersk are said to be among the potential investors.
According to publication, within the nearest 2-3 months Iran plans to conduct exploration of 14 new oil and gas blocks mainly located in the Zagros, Koppet Dagh and the Middle Eastern Gulf region, which would require minimum exploration expenditure of between 14 million euros ($16 million) and 80 million euros.
