Iran plans to build another two nuclear power units in Bushehr

Almaty. February 1. Silkroadnews - Iran intends to start construction of another two nuclear power units in Bushehr. The statement was made by the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi IrTAG reports.
“As for the construction of nuclear power plants, which I have already said about, we hope to start the works on new reactors in a few months,” - said A. Salehi.
He noted that Iran and Russia have previously concluded an agreement on the construction of “two big reactors at Bushehr”.
In November 2014 in Moscow Russia and Iran, as noted, signed a number of documents to extend the cooperation of the parties in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy and open up the possibility for the construction in Iran of eight nuclear power units on the Russian technologies. Besides, at the same time the contract was signed for the construction of the second stage on the “Bushehr” NPP Russian project of the two blocks.
The issue is about the advanced power units with VVER reactors and installed electrical capacity of 1000 MW of “3 plus” generation equipped with all the required safety systems.
