Iran plans to build small nuclear power plants

Almaty. April 10. Silkroadnews - Iranian authorities are planning to start development and design of technical documentation for construction of small nuclear power plants, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
As the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (OAEIRI) Ali Akbar Salehi, at present the goverment is studying the issue of the construction in the country of small nuclear power plants in addition to the two planned power plants of 1,000 MW each, construction of which will begin soon in the province of Bushehr, in cooperation with Russian specialists .
Moreover A Salehi announced the government plans to build plants for desalination of sea water in the framework of the state policy in the field of promotion and development of agriculture in the country.
During the exhibition, on the occasion of the National Day of Nuclear Technology Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was presented the first fuel assemblies (fuel assembly) with lead pellets, as well as three new radiopharmaceuticals for the treatment of serious diseases of humans.
