Iran plans too produce up to 400 billion cubic meters of gas by 2020

Almaty. June 22. Silkroadnews - Iran plans to increase it's production of natural gas more than twice by 2020, informed the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
As the director of the planning department of the National Gas Company of Iran Hassan Muntazer-Torbati in the next four years, Iran plans to take the second place in the world in gas production, securing at least 10% of the global market. For this, will be allocated about $62.5 billion of investments that will be used for the implementation of projects to create new production and refining capacity, as well as the modernization and maintenance of the gas infrastructure of the country. It is expected that by 2020 the volume of natural gas production in Iran will reach 400 billion cubic meters per year.
Head of Department added that would be also increased the total length of the country's gas distribution network from the current 36 thousand to 45 thousand km, which will provide each Iranian family with natural gas.
