Iran resumes exports of petrochemical products to Europe

Date: 14:39, 15-12-2014.

Almaty. December 15. Silkroadnews - The supply of Iranian petrochemical products to markets of Europe will be made possible by the easing of the sanctions regime against the Islamic Republic, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Monday.
For example, a representative of one of the largest petrochemical companies in Iran - "Jam", said that his company is prepared to send two thousand tons of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) worth more than $2 million, and this party will be shipped to Belgium this week.
However, the resumption of petrochemical exports from Iran to the EU also coincided with the revival of the supply of such products to neighboring Turkey. This became possible after in November last year the government of Iran and "six" international mediators (the US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany) failed to reach an interim agreement on the Iranian nuclear program (INP), which subsequently led to a softening of economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
Meanwhile, according to official figures for the first half of the current Iranian year (21.03 - 09.22.2014) total exports of petrochemical products from Iran abroad amounted to more than 7.8 million tons worth $5.1 billion.
In 2013, the petrochemical enterprises of the country produced about 40 million tons of different products, and the amount of exports exceeded $9 billion.
It should be added that at the end of this year, Iran plans to increase its total exports of petrochemical products to $12 billion.
