Iran’s army launched massive military exercises in south-east areas of country

Beijing. January 23. Silkroadnews - Iran’s army launched massive military exercises in south-east areas of country, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports with reference to Tasnim News Agency.
“Iran’s Army staged massive military exercises in the country’s south and southeastern areas, involving all military units,” the report said.
The large-scale military exercises code-named “Muhammad Rasulullah-5” (Muhammad, the Messenger of God) covers vast territories south of Iran, mainly along the coastline, stretching to the southeastern region of Makran, near the sea of Oman.
The ground force, air force, navy and air defense have been involved in the exercise.
During the first day of the exercises, the army ground forces opened heavy fire at the conventional enemy’s naval vessels approaching the coast.
The exercises are aimed at raising the fighting capacity of the armed forces and convey a message of peace and friendship to the countries of the region.
Throughout the year the armed forces of Iran conduct routine military exercises.
