Iran's parliament speaker urged the international community to help Iraq to fight against terrorism

Tehran. June 26. Silkroadnews - Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), Ali Larijani urged the international community to take measures to prevent the supply of arms and financing of the group "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant", the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
"In his statement, Larijani said that although the holding of national elections in neighboring Iraq has created real prerequisites for the democratic development of the country and the whole region, extremist organization "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant " aims to undermine democratic processes through such terror and violence,"- says the publication.
"The international community, including the UN and the governments of all countries, who feel responsible for the preservation of peace and tranquility on the planet, must respond to the call of the Iraqi government for help and to take practical measures to end the supply of arms and funds to various terrorist groups" - said in a statement.
As recalled by the agency, recently senior management of Iraq appealed for assistance in dealing with a terrorist organization "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant", which managed to establish control over large parts of the country.
