Almaty. February 18. Silkroadnews - «Supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is convinced that the Iranians should not count on the lifting of sanctions, even in the case of reaching a final agreement on the country's nuclear program, as the West does not accept the very existence of the Islamic Revolution in Iran", - says the publication.
According to Khamenei, Iran's opponents derive more value, while maintaining sanctions against the country. He stressed that Iran has sufficient resources to impose retaliatory sanctions measures against unfriendly countries.
"If sanctions are used as a kind of instrument of pressure, the Iranian people will respond to them by imposing sanctions against themselves. Iran has the world's total reserves of oil and gas - that is needed in the world and Europe. If necessary, Iran may impose sanctions on them",- said Ayatollah.
Khamenei underlined the need for speedy implementation of mechanisms and measures aimed at reducing the dependence of the Iranian economy on petrodollars. He called for the active development of the country in areas not related to the oil and gas sector.
