Iran started construction of new submarines and destroyers

Almaty. September 24. Silkroadnews - Iran has started the construction of new destroyers and submarines, according to Iranian media.
Head of the Ministry of Defence of the Islamic Republic on the Navy General Ali Golamzade said that Iran started to build new submarines with small displacement class Fateh and four class destroyers Moudge. However, he said that one of these destroyers - Sahand with displacement of 1,400 tons, equipped with missile systems for different purposes - will be launched before the end of the year.
However, when reporters asked about  about surface ships, exceeding in size and displacement the destroyer Dzhamaran - first warship created by Iranian shipbuilders - General A.Golamzade noted that local experts rather the necessary have knowledge and experience for building ships for the Navy. According to him, "they are quite capable of creating large ships with a much larger displacement than class of destroyers Dzhamaran».
"Moreover - there is now an opportunity to put the construction of major surface ships for the Iranian Navy literally on stream", - he added.
Dzhamaran destroyer was launched in the Persian Gulf in February 2010. His twin Dzhamaran-2 entered service in December 2011, was launched at the port of Bandar-e Anzali on the Caspian Sea.
Displacement of each of the ships - 1420 tons. They are equipped with anti-ship missiles and rockets' surface - the air", as well as torpedoes, two guns and machine guns. Their cruising speed is 30 knots.
