Iran to become the fourth producer of stable isotope in the world

Almaty. January 30. Silkroadnews – Iran has signed two agreements with Russia on cooperation in the field of stable isotope and a “roadmap” for fuel production, IrTAG reports.

“Having signed a cooperation agreement (on stable isotope) with Russia Iran becomes the fourth country capable of producing stable isotope”, spokesman for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said.

He pointed out that the agreement signed is to be implemented at the Fordo nuclear facility, touched on stable isotope medical and industrial applications and noted at present stable isotopes are produced in Russia, the US and at Eurenco facilities in Europe.

Speaking on the roadmap for fuel production with Russia, B. Kamalvandi emphasized its importance.

The Iranian official also reported on 2 new nuclear power plants to be constructed in Iran with the assistance of Russia, and 185 million euro of advance payment invested into the project.
