Almaty. October 9. Silkroadnews - The railways of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran have agreed to establish a competitive tariff conditions for a new international railway line Uzen-Bolashak-Serhetyaka-Akyayla-Incheburun, reports IrTAG.
According to the National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", Tehran hosted a trilateral meeting between the leaders of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan and Iranian railways.
The sides reached an agreement on the establishment on October 15, 2015 a uniform rates for the three countries for container trains from China to Iran, and the transit through its territory. The implementation of this measure will help to attract freight traffic from maritime transport and increase the attractiveness of land transcontinental corridors.
They also agreed on preferential tariff conditions in the territories of the parties to the transportation of grain, ferrous metals, aluminum and ferroalloys from Kazakhstan to Iran via Iran to the port of Bandar Abbas in the Persian Gulf.
The parties agreed that they would seek to establish a single comprehensive rates for 2016 on its territory - with the increasing volume of cargo in wagons and containers.
The next trilateral meeting of the heads of railways of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran is scheduled for the second half of December 2015 in Ashgabat.
