Iran will accelerate the creation of economic zones along the Caspian Sea in the north of the country

Almaty. August 19. Silkroadnews - A special economic zone (SEZ) will be created on the basis of the private Astara seaport located in Gilan province in northern Iran, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Tuesday.
"The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing launch SEZ as soon as possible", - said the governor of Gilan province, Muhammad Ali Najafi, commenting recently taken decision to accelerate the work on the discovery of the SEZ.
It is assumed that the SEZ "Port Astara" will occupy an area of ​​119 hectares. Initially, it will include about 60 hectares of multipurpose land, which already today has all the necessary infrastructure for the normal functioning of the zone.
Among the most important advantages of SEZ is the fact that it borders with Azerbaijan and has direct access to the countries of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. At the same time through Astara lay out international transport corridors, which, on the one hand, lead to Central Asia and on the other - in the East Asia.
Port city Astara is located about 200 km north-west of Rasht, the capital of the province Gilan.
