Iran will attend the April meeting in Doha

Almaty. March 30. Silkroadnews - Iran will attend the April meeting in Doha, yet does not intend to freeze the oil production, IrTAG reports.

“Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh will attend the discussions in Doha on April 17, without joining the proposal to freeze oil production,” the statement says.

As reported by the media, to support the world oil prices Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Venezuela at the meeting in Doha on February 16 agreed to cap production at January levels but only if other producers join the initiative. Among the countries that have expressed such a willingness are Ecuador, Algeria, Nigeria, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting of oil producing countries in the extended format is expected to be held on April 17, 2016, in Doha (Qatar). Earlier, the head of the Russian ministry of energy Alexander Novak said about 15 countries have confirmed their participation in the meeting.

At the same time, Iran has stated the country will cooperate with other countries on the issue of freezing oil production only after production in the country reaches 4 million barrels per day. At present Iran’s production, according to OPEC data, stands at 3.1 million barrels a day.
