Iran will build a steel plant with a capacity of 5 million tons per year

Almaty. November 18. Silkroadnews - Iranian authorities have given permission for the project to build a new steel plant in Golestan province with the participation of private investment, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
As told the head of the Chamber of Commerce (CCI) of Golestan province Husseynkuli Kavanlu new plant with a capacity of 5 million tons per year will be built in a special economic zone "Atrek" in the east of the province with the financial participation of the public and private sectors of the country, as well as investors from Kazakhstan.
Thus Kavanlu explained that 20% of the future plant will be owned by the state, 51% - by private sector and 29% - by Kazakhstan investors.
It is expected that work on the practical implementation of the project will begin before March 21, 2015.
However, the head of the Chamber recalled scheduled for early December opening of the transnational railway Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan, and noted that the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Golestan province will actively involve industrial and technical opportunities of Kazakh side.
Golestan province is located in the northeast of Iran and borders with Turkmenistan.
