Iran will build two power plants in Georgia
Almaty. May 8. Silkroadnews - Iranian MEPCO Group is discussing with Georgia and Tajikistan the possibility of signing agreements in the electricity sector, reports Trend.
«MEPCO Group plans to build two power plants in Georgia and with Tajikistan is discussing the issue of electricity supply", - said the commercial director Elmira Salmanpur.
She noted that MEPCO Group is ready to cooperate with neighboring countries, but the main obstacle to this today are imposed economic sanctions against Iran, which paralyze the business.
According to the commercial director, after the lifting of the sanctions will disappear all obstacles for Iranian companies to work abroad.
Iran plans to increase the export of electricity to neighboring countries to almost 25 billion kW/h, said earlier the Deputy Minister of Energy of Iran Houshang Falahatian. According to him, the growth of electricity exports will be achieved through collaboration with the private sector.
Iran currently sells electricity to Armenia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iraq and Afghanistan.
