Iranian banks have been allowed to issue credit cards

Almaty. September 26. Silkroadnews – Central Bank of Iran has allowed the domestic banks to issue clients credit cards, Iranian news agency (IrTAG) reports.

According to the head of the Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif, the cards will be issued with a limit of about 3 thousand, 10 thousand and 15 thousand dollars. They can be used for purchases in stores or via the Internet.

Iranian banks may take some time to get used to the credit card system. The cards will be issued on the number of requests received by the banks.

«It would be wrong to think these cards will start widely applied in the banking network immediately», the head of the financial institution believes.
