Iranian Foreign Minister discussed cooperation with the leadership of Afghanistan

Almaty. January 21. Silkroadnews - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a series of bilateral meetings with the leaders of Afghanistan as part of his one-day visit to Kabul, informed the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Wednesday.
In particular, at a meeting with Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed that the government of Iran is considering an early restoration of peace and stability on the Afghan soil as one of the main priorities of its foreign policy. At the same time, he welcomed the efforts to establish a national unity government in Afghanistan.
The head of Iran's diplomacy stressed the importance of measures to ensure security and stability in the neighboring country, as "troubled Afghanistan has a negative impact on the environment with security throughout the region". In this regard, J.Zarif assured the Afghan leader that the people of Afghanistan can always count on the full support and assistance from Iran.
The Minister gave the other party an official letter from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the name of his Afghan colleagues with an invitation to visit Tehran on a visit at any time convenient to him. A.Gani gratefully accepted the invitation and expressed the hope that such a visit could take place in the near future.
Meanwhile, in a separate meeting of J. Zarif with the executive director Afghanistan Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, were performed a detailed exchange of views on a range of issues of mutual interest. Expressed interest of parties in the further expansion and deepening of cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan on the entire range of bilateral relations.
Iranian Foreign Minister also held talks with the Afghan government adviser on national security issues Mohammad Hanif Atmar, during which the parties reaffirmed their desire of leadership of both countries at the conclusion of the Iran-Afghan relations to a new level, especially with regard to bilateral relations in the field of security, the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.
At a meeting with Hamid Karzai, the Iranian diplomat emphasized the role of the former head of Afghanistan in shaping the friendly and neighborly relations with all its neighbors in the region.
