Iranian Foreign Minister discussed counter-terrorism with the new leaders of Iraq

Tehran. August 25. Silkroadnews - The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed counter-terrorism with the Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi in Baghdad, reports IrTAG.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran hopes to continue the close collaboration and cooperation with the new government of Iraq. This was stated by Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, during his visit to Baghdad on Sunday",- says the publication on Monday.
Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Iran attaches "strategic importance" of comprehensive deepening of relations with its western neighbor. He also held separate talks with the speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jabour, during which noted the importance of the early establishment of order and security throughout Iraq.
It is reported that one of the key topics of the talks of Iran's Minister with Iraqi officials was the issue of strengthening cooperation in the fight against the growing threat of terrorism in the region.
