Beijing. June 14. Silkroadnews - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held bilateral talks with his South African counterpart Lindiwe Sisulu, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
A bilateral meeting will also take place with the President of South Africa in Iran.
After the U.S. unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear deal of July 14, 2015, Iran has started an active diplomatic activity to strengthen bilateral ties amid the coming U.S. sanctions.
Prior to his visit to South Africa, Zarif has visited the Indian capital of New Delhi, where he managed to enter into agreements with senior Indian officials on maintaining bilateral relations and developing trade regardless of hostile U.S. actions.
Reportedly, the Iranian diplomatic chief had another two-day visit to Pretoria earlier in 2017.
