Iranian Foreign Ministry representative holds talks with Syrian opposition in Geneva
Beijing. June 21. Silkroadnews - Senior advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi Ansari met in Geneva with some leaders of the Syrian opposition to discuss the issues related to the Constitutional Committee of Syria, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
Ansari, who is Iran’s leading negotiator for international peace talks in Syria, arrived in Geneva on Monday, IRNA reports. On June 18-19 he also held talks with representatives of Russia and Turkey as guarantors of peace in Syria, as well as with the UN Secretary-General’s special representative Staffan de Mistura.
On Tuesday the ambassadors of Iran, Russia and Turkey, along with de Mistura, attended a quadripartite meeting to review the latest developments in this Arab country.
A new round of talks will be held in Geneva in a few weeks, Iran.ru wrote.
