Iranian Navy received new destroyer of its own design

Almaty. March 10. Silkroadnews - Navy of Islamic Republic of Iran adopted a new destroyer "Damavand", which was launched in the Caspian Sea, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
The handover ceremony of a ship was held in the Iranian port of Bandar-e Anzali on the Caspian Sea in the presence of Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hussein Dekhan, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamhani and Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibullah Sayar.
The vessel will be assigned to the 4th Marine Navy zone in the north of Iran.
"Damavand" has been completely designed and built in Iran. The ship was called "Damavand" in honor of the highest mountain in the country. Destroyer, whose length is 90 meters, has a system armed with cruise missiles, torpedoes and equipped with electronic devices.
