Beijing. January 19. Silkroadnews - Iranian Foreign Ministry has submitted to the parliament the eighth quarterly report on realization of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the nuclear agreement Iran and six world powers entered in 2015, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported referring to Tasnim News Agency.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said, the quarterly report was submitted to the parliament in accordance with the law obliging the government to take appropriate measures on the JCPOA implementation.
The report, submitted to the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the parliament, includes four sections, namely: obstacles and problems of the JCPOA implementation, diplomatic measures to meet Iran’s demands, status on removal of sanctions from Iran and the latest developments in the nuclear industry.
According to the spokesman, the report rejects the unilateral and harmful measures by the U.S. administration regarding the implementation of the nuclear deal, and underlines the international community’s confirmation of the fact that Iran fully complies with the JCPOA.
On July 14, 2015, Tehran and the Group of 5+1 (Russia, China, the United States, Great Britain, France and Germany) agreed on the agreement text.
The agreement came into force in January 2016 and supposed to facilitate Iran’s foreign trade by relief of sanctions related to nuclear weapons, but the U.S. threats prevented the large world banks and companies from cooperation with Iran.
According to the law, which requires the Iranian government to protect the country’s achievements and nuclear rights, the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is obliged to monitor the JCPOA “proper implementation” and required to report to the parliament on the status every six months.
