Issues on maritime cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran was discussed in Tehran

Tehran. July 3. Silkroadnews - Iran and Kazakhstan expand cooperation in the field of shipping, the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
"The Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) and the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasized the need of the further expansion and increase of bilateral cooperation in the port and maritime areas", - says the publication.
As noted, the issues of cooperation were discussed in Tehran during the meeting the head of department of the port facilities and port navigation of IRI Jalil Islami and President of JSC "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port" Michael Yalbachev.
J. Islami expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the two countries in the field of port and maritime cooperation, noting that the meeting is taking place against the background of strengthening mutual contacts in this area and "growth of mutual trade turnover."
In turn, M. Yalbachev confirmed the readiness of the Kazakh side to increase exports of wheat and steel products to Iran. He also expressed hope that the commissioning of the relevant railway in Kazakhstan will create an opportunity for direct access to the port of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, which in turn will undoubtedly contribute to further growth in freight traffic between two countries.
