Almaty. March 29. Silkroadnews – It is expected to keep Beijing’s population under 23 million people through 2020, the newspaper “People’s Daily” writes.

The Beijing Planning and Land Resources Management Committee informed, the draft plan outlining the city’s development within 2016-2030 has already been prepared, starting from today it is open for the public, the citizens’ comments and suggestions will be accepted for consideration.

The draft proposes to keep the population of Beijing under the level of 23 million people through 2020.

A share of “green transport” is expected to exceed 80% by 2030; the bicycles will become the best options for short distances trips and their share is projected to make at least 12.6%; through 2030 public transport trips is expected to make up 42% in the central districts of the city; by 2020 the length of railway lines traffic is expected to reach about 1 thousand km.
