Japan’s government approved expansion of unilateral sanctions against DPRK

Almaty. November 7. Silkroadnews - The Japanese government approved the expansion of unilateral sanctions against the DPRK, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports with reference to TASS.
Japan’s Cabinet of Ministers approved the expansion of sanctions against the DPRK due to North Korea’s nuclear missile program, the decision at the morning session of the government said on Tuesday.
The new restriction will affect 35 legal entities and individuals to rein in the DPRK’s nuclear and missile development programs, export of minerals and coal, and dispatch of North Korean laborers to other countries. Accounts and assets of individuals who are subject to restrictions imposed will be frozen if revealed.
On Monday at the joint press conference with the U.S. President Donald Trump Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said about Tokyo’s decision on sanctions expansion. According to him, the move is aimed to solve the missile and nuclear problems, as well as the issue of Japanese citizens abducted by North Korean special services.
Last time when Japan extended sanctions against the DPRK was in August this year, the sanctions list included 4 companies from China and 2 from Namibia operating with the North Korean side. The measures taken have actually prohibited trade with the DPRK and travelling to the country for a number of persons, with restriction of money transfers as well.
