Kabul has asked to legalize the Afghan refugees in Iran
Almaty. September 7. Silkroadnews - On Sunday, Afghan Minister for Refugees Syed Hussein Alemi Balkhi discussed with the Deputy Interior Minister of Iran Hossein Zolfakari problem of Afghan migrants in Iran, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
Kabul has asked Tehran to legalize the refugees and issue visas and documents required for living and studying in Iran, reports news agency "Pazhvok."
In turn, the Iranian side has put forward a proposal to prevent illegal crossing of the border and to create conditions for the return of Afghans to their country.
According to the Afghan Ministry for Refugees, now in Iran live about 2 million Afghans, among whom only 1.4 million have the legal documents.
It is worth noting that in recent years the treatment for refugees by the authorities, and the local population has deteriorated due to the difficulties associated with the introduction of Western embargo against Iran.
