Karzai called on Washington to help in resolving the crisis around the presidential election

Kabul. September 18. Silkroadnews - Current President Hamid Karzai urged the United States to assist in the resolution of the political crisis surrounding the elections in the Islamic Republic, reports AfTAG.
"As a key mediator in the talks between the two candidates for the presidency, Washington should facilitate the successful completion of the election. Elections were delayed, and the Afghan people want to know their results without further delay",- said Karzai, speaking at a meeting with the Special Representative of United States for Afghanistan and Pakistan Daniel Feldman and US Ambassador in IRA James Cunningham.
Recall, the two candidates for president of Afghanistan has not yet reached an agreement on the establishment of a national unity government.
Meanwhile, officials of the Independent Electoral Commission announced that they will publish the results of the second round of presidential elections in a week, regardless of the outcome of negotiations between candidates.
