Kazakh Parliament approves amendments to laws on money laundering and financing of terrorism

Astana. May 15. Silkroadnews – Upper Chamber of Kazakh Parliament approved law “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Republic of Kazakhstan on countering of legalisation (laundering) of illegally acquired profits and financing of terrorism”.
Thus, the document is now seen as approved. It has been forwarded to President to sign.
“Introduction of international standards leads to increased attractiveness of the country for investors. According to the UN Security Council Resolution, UN member-countries are to adhere to recommendations of the UNODC on financial measures to counter money laundering”, the Deputy PM and the Finance Minister, Bakhyt Sultanov, said at the session of the Chamber.
“The draft law is aimed at implementation of measures countering legalisation of illegally acquired profits and financing of terrorism”, he highlighted.
