Kazakhstan advocates for peaceful resolution of Ukranian Crisis – MFA of RK

Astana. March 19. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan advocates for peaceful means to resolve Ukranian crisis, as the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) reports.

“In regards to the referendum that was held in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on the 16th of March, 2014, Kazakhstan highlights its adherence to the norms of international law stipulated by the UN Charter”, states the message that was posted on the MFA web-page this Tuesday.

It is also highlighted in the message, that Kazakhstan considers the referendum that was held in Crimea to be “an act of free will of people populating the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and treats the decisions made by the Russian Federation under subsequent circumstances with understanding”.

“We advocate for peaceful means to resolve Ukranian crisis with its reconciliation achieved through negotiation process under the UN umbrella with participation of other competent international organizations”

As reported earlier, Vladimir Putin has signed a decree that recognizes Crimea as an independent state.

The 16th of March referendum on the status of Crimea indicated that 96.77% of its population wanted the peninsula to become part of Russia.
