Kazakhstan and Belarus refused to limit the import of Ukraine
Almaty. June 30. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan and Belarus refused to limit the import of Ukrainian goods, KazTAG.
"At the meeting of Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Russia offered Belarus and Kazakhstan to adopt a common resolution on the new regime for Ukrainian goods, but the offer was rejected. As Belarus and Kazakhstan disagreed, Russia in accordance with the rules of the Customs Union, has the right to act unilaterally",- says the publication.
"Protective measures are needed anyway. We will continue the dialogue so that these measures were joint and not unilateral", - quoted the president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov.
As explained by Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus have different reasons to reject the proposal.
Kazakhstan is in the process of accession to the WTO and this issue clamped it in a rigid framework of negotiations, there is a risk that Ukraine will block its entry. As for Belarus, it has 600-km border with Ukraine it is technically very difficult and not profitable to close it.
