Almaty. May 19. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan and China will jointly combat smuggling and transfer of prohibited goods, the chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daulet Ergozhin said, KazTAG reports.

“Currently we expect signing of more than 60 international agreements with the Chinese side. We have a full understanding between us, first of all, as regards the exchange of information on the export declaration they work with,” D. Ergozhin said to reporters at the WCO Europe Region Heads of Customs held in Astana on Thursday.

“Secondly, we are working on the issue of signing an agreement on mutual efforts to combat smuggling and prohibited goods transfer. It will happen, probably, within a month,” he added.

According to D. Ergozhin, there is also a mutual agreement on radioactive metals control to be prepared by September.

“We expect a visit by large delegation of our counterparts from China to certify our checkpoints and laboratories, thus, to facilitate the export of Kazakhstani goods to China,” he explained.

Besides, taking into account the launch of all international lines by road and rail transport the terms of goods delivery from China to Europe by land via Kazakhstan will be reduced to 5-7 days.

“We will profit off of the transit. On the average Kazakhstan earns around 100-120 thousand tenge per truck at the time it passes through the country. But if you increase the flow of trucks up to 120 thousand units, you can imagine how much more money will flow into the country,” D. Ergozhin said.
