Almaty. June 18. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan and Iran are negotiating for a single tariff for the new railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran. This was announced by Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mojtaba Damirchilu, reports KazTAG.
According to the diplomat in Tehran, both sides agreed to provide the necessary means and conditions for the operation of the railway in full capacity.
The ambassador also noted the interest of Kazakhstan companies in entering the Indian Ocean.
"For transportation of Kazakh goods to the international markets, local companies interested in investing in the southern ports of Iran, I mean in Bandar Abbas, Imam Khomeini, Chabahar in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. To this end, Mr. Mamin (President of JSC NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Askar Mamin) visited the region and met with local representatives, and they discussed the projects, investment and development of the port", - informed the Iranian ambassador.
Recall the opening of the railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran took place in December 2014. The length of the railway line on the territory of Kazakhstan is 146 km, Turkmenistan - 470 km, Iran - 70 km. The route will open up the possibility for handling 10 million tons of cargo a year.
