Kazakhstan and Qatar intend to create a joint venture to manufacture components for solar panels
Astana. January 27. Silkroadnews- Kazakh delegation headed by Chairman of the Board of JSC "Kazatomprom" Nurlan Kapparov on 25-26 January visited Doha, during which negotiated with management of Qatar Solar Energy (Qatar) and Solar City (USA), reported the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"During the meeting sides discussed aspects of cooperation in the field of renewable energy and the creation of a joint venture for the production of components for solar panels. This assumes the use the resources available in Kazakhstan in the form of quartz and infrastructure and photovoltaic plants",- informed Foreign Ministry in a statement on Tuesday.
As noted, the leaders of the three companies and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Qatar Askar Shokybaev also met with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, to discuss the prospects of this project, as well as other topical issues of Kazakh-Qatari cooperation.
Qatar Solar Energy has a plant for the production of 300 megawatts of solar cells. The creation of the joint venture involves the pooling of resources for the execution of the contract with Solar City.
