Kazakhstan and Turkey implement 91 joint projects totaling $3 billion

Almaty. April 14. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan and Turkey implement 91 joint projects worth nearly $3 billion, the press service of the President of Kazakhstan reports.

As noted, during his visit to Istanbul on Wednesday, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the heads of holdings and companies of Turkey. The event was attended by heads of about 25 Turkish companies.
N. Nazarbayev noted that more than 1.6 thousand companies with Turkish capital operate in Kazakhstan and about 15 thousand Turkish citizens live in the republic at present.

“Despite the certain difficulties, the trade turnover between the two countries exceeds $2 billion. According to the agreement with the president R. Erdogan, we need to increase this indicator up to $10 billion. Over the past decade the volume of investments by the Turkish businesses into our economy has exceeded $2 billion. Out of 10 foreign companies that carried out active investing activities in Kazakhstan last year, three were the Turkish ones. For example, at present Kazakhstan and Turkey realize 91 joint project worth nearly $3 billion,” the head of the state said.

During the conversation the sides exchanged views on possibilities of implementing joint projects in various fields of cooperation. The president expressed his support to all the proposals and initiatives voiced during the meeting, having emphasized that Kazakhstan is going to render all-round support to the activities by businessmen from Turkey.
