Kazakhstan border-control officers arrest Russian fish poachers, fire arms at them

Astana. April 23. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan border control officers held 5 citizens of Russia. Individuals were held in relation to fish-poaching activities in Caspian Sea.
“Kalkan” border-control ship started following a vessel that violated Kazakhstan’s territorial waters. Trespassers weren’t responding to any requests of the officers to stop the vessel. The officers fired a few warning shots and held the trespassers. 5 Russian citizens were found in the vessel. However, all of the fish they poached was already thrown back in the sea by them.
