Kazakhstan can export up to 9 million tons of grain in 2014/2015 marketing year

Almaty. August 8. Silkroadnews - Zhanbolat Mamyshev. Kazakhstan can export 8 - 9 million tonnes of cereals in 2014/2015 marketing year, told KazTAG referring the representative of Ministry of Agriculture Saktash Khasenov.
"Expected gross harvest of the current calendar year is projected to about 17 million tonnes, carryover - 4 million tons, the potential export is 8-9 million tons", - said S. Khasenov at a briefing on Friday.
However, he mentioned that these datas are for 2014-2015 marketing year, that is from  July 2014 to June 2015.
According to him, the traditional markets for Kazakh grain remain Azerbaijan, Iran and Central Asia.
"There is an agreement with China on building supplies, moreover, transit through China could increase the supply to South-East Asia", - added S. Khasenov.
