Kazakhstan can increase volume of oil transit from Russia to China up to 10 million tons per year

Almaty. May 31. Silkroadnews – JSC “KazTransOil” (KTO), Kazakhstan’s national operator of main oil pipelines, can raise the volume of transit of oil from Russia to China through Kazakhstan up to 10 million tons a year, the newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.

The publication notes, today the volume of oil passing in transit from Russia to China accounts for 7 million tons per year according to the intergovernmental agreement between Kazakhstan and Russia. Kazakhstan is ready to increase the volume of transit and raise it up to 10 million tons without any technical actions.

At the same time KTO General Director Nurtas Shmanov noted that Kazakhstani side is ready to consider all the volumes above 7 million with some amendments in the tariff part. All the parties involved will benefit from the approval of this proposal.
