Kazakhstan does not negotiate dispatching its military personnel to Syria

Almaty. June 23. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan is not in talks to dispatch its military personnel to Syria, press service of the ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
“Kazakhstan is not in talks with anyone to dispatch its military personnel to Syria. The issue of security provision and effectiveness of the four zones of de-escalation in Syria lies within cognizance of the Astana process guarantor states that will discuss it along with other topics during the next meeting in the capital of Kazakhstan on July 4-5, 2017”, the statement by the ministry of foreign affairs released on Friday reads.
With this, the foreign ministry representatives note, “Kazakhstan’s provision of the Astana platform for the parties involved is the country’s real contribution to the Syrian crisis settlement”.
“In any case, for our country, the fundamental premise to even consider the possibility of sending its peacekeepers to any hotbed of tensions will be a due resolution and appropriate mandate of the UN Security Council”, diplomats add.
Earlier, the Russian media reported the Russian authorities are negotiating with Astana and Bishkek on possible deployment of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan military personnel in Syria.
