Almaty. August 3. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan has offered Uzbekistan to simplify the border crossing procedure for the tourists, UzTAG reports.

“We’d like to work out such a scheme with the Uzbek side that could allowing the tourists to cross the border freely, creating a special “green corridors” for them. There are, indeed, many nuances arising. Travel companies will have more independence, though at the same time more responsibility as their operation will affect both countries’ security, meaning they shall work with the true real tourists”, Kazakhstani Ambassador to Uzbekistan Erik Utembayev said.

The essence of the proposal is to implement pilot projects providing for a kind of “green corridors” to be opened in certain tourist areas of Kazakhstan.

For this it will be necessary to bring together all relevant agencies of two countries, tourism companies, institutes responsible for border and customs control. One of these areas could become, for example, Saryagash resort so popular among Uzbekistan’s citizens.

According to E. Utembayev, now the embassy holds meetings with tourist companies of two countries in order to determine the most popular tourist destinations to start simplification of procedures. This will lay the foundation to develop the whole complex of tourist relations between the states.

“Meeting with the tour operators will help to reveal the gaps we do have unsolved in our relations, systematize problems to be resolved, get prepared for logistics and hotels. As a result, for example, next year we can offer those Uzbek citizens who plan to come to Astana to visit a unique star show and different vehicles launched at Baikonur as well”, he said.
