Kazakhstan on stocks of POPs-containing waste is the second largest in Europe after Russia
Almaty. September 16. SIlkroadnews - Kazakhstan on stocks of wastes containing persistent organic pollutants (POPs), is the second largest in Europe after Russia. This was reported by Director of the Department of Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ainur Sospanova, KazTAG reports.
According to her, the percentage of utilization of industrial waste in the country is 18%, and one of severe problems is elimination of historical pollution.
In general, according to the figures the population is set a goal to remove solid waste by 100% by 2030, and to achieve the proportion of recycled waste to 40%.
