Kazakhstan presented in Kabul a project on strengthening the economic independence of Afghan women

Almaty. February 21. Silkroadnews – Representatives of the ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of education and science and the agency for civil service affairs and anti-corruption of Kazakhstan visited Kabul to present to the government of Afghanistan a project on official development assistance, press service of Kazakhstani ministry of foreign affairs informed.

“A project, introduced in Kabul, is aimed at strengthening the economic independence of Afghan women and involve trainings of citizens of this country in Kazakhstan on such directions of high demand in Afghanistan as public administration and health care, with a special focus on maternal and child health”, the statement of the foreign ministry says.

Partners in the project providing financial support for this initiative are the UNDP and Japan. Kazakhstan, in its turn, will share with the Afghan citizens experience and skills from the country’s leading educational institutions and experts.

The Afghan side expressed gratitude and made a number of proposals to improve the project efficiency. The Deputy Minister for Women Affairs Ms. Spoghmai Wardak recommended to pay special attention to the regions of Afghanistan that often face the most serious problems in their development. One of the reasons behind is a lack of experienced professionals.
