Kazakhstan rejects the concept of a big political game in the region, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Almaty. December 23. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan does not participate in the "Great Game" in Central Asia and is not a pawn in political games. This statement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrisov, KazTAG reports.
"Due to the active exchange of delegations at the highest level, some analysts began to talk about a certain revival of the "great game" in our region. Visits of the leaders of China, Russia, Turkey, India, Japan, USA, Europe, inspired their thoughts about the big game. I would like to say that Kazakhstan categorically rejects the concept of the "great game", - said E. Idrisov at the briefing in Astana on Wednesday.
He said that Kazakhstan and other countries of Central Asia (CA) are mature players, not "pawns in some game".
"Kazakhstan sees a large expanse of Eurasia as a space for collaboration and cooperation. We believe that in Eurasia, Central Asia legitimate interests of the big players can successfully combine and do not interfere. In English, this concept is called a win-win, that is not a zero sum game, a situation where everyone wins",- said the Minister.
This concept, he said, is the basis of a multi-vector policy of Kazakhstan in the Central Asian region.
