Kazakhstan to produce more vegetable oil for export to China, Nazarbayev believes

Almaty. July 1. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan shall produce more vegetable oil for export to China, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said, KazTAG reports.

“This is a very important industry. A new market is being opened now – the one of vegetable oils in the People’s Republic of China, thus, the prospects are great. It is your task (“EFKO Almaty” LLP – KazTAG) to expand the farmlands for crop production and produce more oil as a competitive export product of high quality,” N. Nazarbayev said at a workshop on the results of industrialization for the 1HY 2016 on Friday.

Fat and oil complex “EFKO Almaty” LLP has been upgraded to the amount of 11 billion tenge, which increased its production capacity up to 120 thousand tonnes per year.

Currently the company exports its products to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

President also gave a start to the plant for production of paper products for sanitary purposes in Astana “IpekKagitCentralAsia” LLP, with a capacity of 16.4 thousand tonnes per year, and the domestic tractor plant “K-704-4r Batyr” “Petropavlovsk tractor plant” LLP JV, with a capacity of up to 100 units per year.
