Kazakhstan to provide Kyrgyzstan with enriched flour to meet solvent demand
Almaty. November 3. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan is ready to provide Kyrgyzstan with enriched flour in volume sufficient to meet solvent demand, Rustem Kurmanov, deputy minister of agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, commented the issue on ban imposed on import and sale of non-enriched flour from Kazakhstan to the markets of the Kyrgyz Republic on site of ministry of agriculture of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reports.
“In 2016, we exported about 50,000 tonnes of flour to Kyrgyzstan, which is just over 2 percent of Kazakhstan’s total flour exports. Undoubtedly, Kazakhstan’s flour producers are ready to supply even more flour to the Kyrgyz market if there is a solvent demand for it,” R. Kurmanov assured.
“Another issue that today some lacks in enriched flour supplies to Kyrgyzstan have been related, first of all, to lack of a steady demand for the product from Kyrgyz buyers’ side. Everything is quite simple, as soon as there is a demand and opportunity to supply non-enriched flour, then there will be a due supply as well,” he said.
To remind, Kyrgyzstan imposed a ban on import and use of non-enriched flour from Kazakhstan. Violation of the law to be fined in amount of 50 thousand som. According to Kyrgyzstan’s State Inspectorate on Veterinary and Phytosanitary Security, with Kyrgyzstan joining the EEU entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan starting importing non-enriched flour unhindered into the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
