Astana. August 29. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan will build a training airfield for training its own pilots, reported KazTAG with reference to the Chairman of the Committee of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Beken Seydahmetov.
According to him, the issue of shortage of pilots is relevant not only in Kazakhstan, but also throughout the world.
"To prepare a pilot, we need certain material resources, time. Therefore, we currently have 65% of Kazakhstani pilots, and 35% - foreign. We aim that by 2018, 80% of the pilots of our airlines will be from Kazakhstan, and until 2020 - 100%", - he explained.
B. Seidakhmetov reported that the Civil Aviation Academy in Almaty has developed new advanced pilot training program.
"For the first time to improve the material and technical base of the academy this year goverment allocated 1.7 billion tenge for the purchase of training aircraft",- he added.
According to the ministry, in 2013 the Finnish company helps train pilots in accordance with the signed agreement.
"12 Kazakh students who qualified, trained at the Finnish instructors, and now in Finland where they have flying practice", - he said.
