Kazakhstan will introduce additional 1,600 MW of electrical power in 2015

Astana. January 9. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan will introduce additional electrical capacity of 1,600 MW in 2015, reports KazTAG citing executive management of Kazakhstan Electricity Association.
"In the period from 2009 to 2014 the annual investment in the power industry increased by 5 times and amounted to about 700 billion tenge. This made it possible to upgrade existing 5000 MW and  introduce additional 1700 MW electrical capacity. Until the end of 2015 this figure will reach 3,300 MW",- says the publication.
Pointed out that since 2016, for energy sources will come into force long-term capacity market in which investors are guaranteed a return of investment through the mandatory purchase of power.
