Kazakhstan will simplify visa procedures for Chinese tourist groups

Almaty. May 23. Silkroadnews – On May 20 the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China held a road show on “The tourism potential of Kazakhstan”, the newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.

During the event, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China Rakhimzhan Rahimov noted that due to the relevant agreement, Kazakhstan will provide a number of services to simplify the processing procedures for the group tours of Chinese citizens, e.g. exemption from the interview, reduction of visa processing time, etc.

The newspaper writes, next year Kazakhstan will hold China Tourism Year and international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017. To attract the Chinese tourists in December 2015 the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan and China’s National Development and Reform Commission signed a memorandum on simplification of organization of group tours of Chinese citizens in the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to this document, the Chinese State Administration of Tourism will provide Kazakhstan with a list of travel companies, which can provide convenient and highly efficient services for visas processing, including exemption from interviews, visa processing within five working days, etc.

Director of the Department of Consular Service of the MFA A. Madiev recommended the Chinese travel companies rich and unique tourism resources of Kazakhstan. He noted that unique natural landscape and national customs allow Kazakhstan to have a great potential in eco-tourism and original folk tourism.

Thematic presentation of tourist opportunities of Kazakhstan and the international exhibition EXPO-2017 have also been held as a part of a road show. Representatives of Kazakhstani and Chinese travel agencies have taken part in bilateral meetings in the business-to-business format to learn more about Kazakhstan’s travel market.
